Products Features
(1) It is hard, with a Mohs hardness of more than 7.1, which is harder than commonly used quartz sand, sea sand, river sand and other sandblasting materials, and has a long service life.
(2) Since garnet is an isometric crystal system and has no cleavage, it is easy to form angular and nearly cubic particles after being made into sandblasting, and its sandblasting rust removal effect is better. It can not only completely remove the rust, scale, coating and its pollutants on the metal surface, but also because of its high hardness, it can produce an ideal angular rough surface on the cleaned metal surface, increase the surface area of the metal, improve the adhesion of the interface, and significantly enhance the bonding force between the corrosion-resistant protective coating and the metal surface, thereby improving the bonding performance of the coating and the metal surface.
(3) It has a large density, usually around 4g/cm³, and has a strong impact force, which can better clean the metal surface.
(4) It has high strength and is not easy to break when encountering the metal surface during spraying. Even if it breaks, it will produce new angular and nearly cubic particles, so it can be used repeatedly, generally up to 20 times. It can be used 20 times as often as silica sand (sea sand or river sand) and more than twice as often as quartz sand (artificially made). Its relative cost per use is lower.
Products Applications
Due to its high hardness and good chemical properties, garnet is widely used in industrial production. The quality requirements of garnet are mainly hardness, purity and particle size. The quality requirements are different for different uses. Special uses also have requirements for the particle size composition of the product, but there is no unified regulation. It is mainly determined by the supply and demand parties. The uses of garnet can be divided into abrasive garnet and non-abrasive garnet.
(1) Sandblasting and rust removal of steel structures, hulls, bridges, etc.;
(2) Water jet cutting of metals, stones, glass, etc.;
(3) Filter media for chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and water treatment;
(4) Grinding of materials such as marble, optical lenses, glassware, and leather;
(5) Raw materials for grinding wheels, oilstones, emery cloths, and sandpapers;
(6) Wear-resistant materials such as highway pavements, runways, wear-resistant rubber, and anti-slip paints;
(7) Widely used in the construction industry, high-end real stone paint, exterior wall decoration, and interior decoration, with a noble and elegant temperament. An ideal new type of non-metallic wear-resistant floor aggregate.
