Steel Shot Abrisives

Steel shot abrasives consist of small balls, usually made of carbon steel. Steel shot is ideal for deburring and peening stamped and machined parts. Its properties are ideal for removing corrosion from the surfaces of mechanical equipment. Cast steel shot is commonly used for deburring aluminum die castings and eliminating mold release agent buildup on molds. Used in a variety of plate peening and polishing applications, steel shot typically provides a smoother, flatter surface than many other types of shot peening abrasives. Another great advantage of steel shot peening abrasives is their high recyclability - because they can be reused, steel shot helps to minimize the cost of peening abrasives. In addition, steel shot abrasives produce less dust during the blasting process, making the workplace more environmentally friendly and reducing clean-up time after blasting.
