Tublar alumina powder is a high density recrystallized sintered Alpha Alumina which consists of large (50 - 200 µm), flat, table-shaped corundum crystals. It is a high density recrystallized sintered Alpha Alumina which consists of large (50 - 200 µm), flat, table-shaped corundum crystals. The raw material is calcined alumina, which is ground to a fine powder and then palletized into balls with a diameter of about 25 mm. These balls are sintered (roasted) at 1750°C in a modern vertical kiln and then crushed, milled and sieved into standardized pieces/sizes.

Performances

Tublar alumina powder has high thermal shock resistance and high strength. Scanning electron microscope photographs show that the surface of the plate corundum grains is not as smooth as the surface of the fused corundum grains, but is rougher with shallow hemispherical pores. This surface structure promotes its reaction and mechanical interlocking with the matrix, thus increasing the strength of the refractory. 

Tublar alumina powder has the advantages of stable chemical properties, high refractoriness, good thermal stability, strong resistance to terminal degeneration, strong resistance to spalling and acid and alkali corrosion, and good toughness of particles. It is the ideal raw material for the production of high-grade refractory products and unshaped refractory materials. It has been widely used in the preparation of high-grade refractory materials such as skateboards, permeable bricks, water spouts, etc. It is also widely used in iron and steel, cement, foundry, glass, petrochemical ceramics and other industries.
