Garnet sandblasting abrasives are made of high-quality rock mineral iron aluminum garnet. Garnet abrasives are also known as "water jet sand" or "corundum". They have strong hardness and good acid and alkali resistance. They are selected by high-purity magnetic separation and have red, green and other chromosomes. They can meet the most stringent industrial and military technical requirements. Garnet abrasives have the characteristics of high melting point, high specific gravity, acid resistance, wear resistance, high strength, and stable chemical properties.

Hardness: Garnets typically have a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7.5, making them suitable for jewelry purposes and industrial applications.
Specific Gravity: Garnets have a specific gravity between 3.4 and 4.3, depending on type and composition.
Cleavage: Garnets lack distinct cleavage planes, meaning they do not split in a specific direction like some minerals do.
Fracture: Their fractures can be either conchoidal (smooth, curved surface) or uneven, depending on the type and quality of the specimen.
Toughness: Due to their hardness, garnets are generally considered tough and resistant to breakage, making them suitable for a variety of applications.

 

1. Sandblasting: Garnet sand has moderate hardness, high stacking density, no free silicon dioxide, good toughness and high specific gravity, and is an ideal environmentally friendly sandblasting material.

2. Used for water jet cutting: Using garnet abrasive as the cutting medium, relying on high-pressure water jet to cut the base parts, it is more commonly used for cutting oil and gas pipelines, steel and other parts. It is a new, safe and environmentally friendly cutting method.

3. Filtering medium: In purifying drinking water or wastewater, granular garnet is mainly used as the lower layer medium of the filter bed. It is a new type of water filtration material. It is also suitable for non-ferrous metal beneficiation and oil drilling mud weighting agent.

4. Functional filler: Mainly used in automotive brake parts, special tires, special building products and other fields, and can be used as wear-resistant floor materials for the construction of highway pavements, runways, industrial floors, parking lots, sports venues, etc.
